Parks on St. Simons Island

Mallery Park is probably the largest park on St. Simons Island. Its layout is informal and includes a sportsfield on the other side of the street.
Live oaks give a misleading impression of great age. These are probably not more than 75-100 years old.
Could Mallery Park be on the site of an old Indian burial ground?
And is there an Indian mound in a little circle a half-mile away? The rise in elevation certainly looks man-made.
